Here are the steps to take.
Upgrade From DIY To Professional Practical Cosmetic Formulation
A lot of people are making DIY products without properly learning cosmetic formulation. Lack of adequate knowledge will make you do the wrong things that will result in contamination.
So I encourage you to learn cosmetic formulation if you want to prevent mold from growing on your products. Here at StableCosmeticFormulas.com, I teach you how to make beauty products with the proper formula and formulation procedure. We make different beauty products every month. Since we are learning directly from a trained and experienced cosmetic chemist, common issues of mold and contamination will be put at bay if we follow the proper formulation procedure.

Experience is preferred but not necessary. If you can follow simple procedure, and can ask questions without reservation, you are on your way to success.
Prevent Contamination By Proper Sanitization
Why sanitization and not sterilization
Sterilization can only be done in hospital environments or specialized labs. At home or small labs, we sanitize to reduce microorganism level to a safe level most preservatives and heating can handle.
The number 2 cause of molds, yeast and bacteria growth on beauty products is contamination.
The first thing you want to do is to eliminate anything that can contaminate your products from onset.
To prevent contamination, ensure you sanitize your formulation desk (where you make your products), your containers (glass beakers or pyrex jars) and any tools you will be using to make your product.
Please do not use Sodium Hypochlorite (Bleach) it is toxic to humans. Anyone that recommends this for sanitization has no clue about Formulation Safety and Ingredient toxicity.
